Type 2 Diabetes Questions and Concerns

I have type 2 for over 15 years. I feel no symptoms, which is great, I think cause I stay active everyday & watch my diet. But my numbers stay too high. My A1C was over 8 last year, but now down to 6.9. My issue is that my doctor wants me to take metformin 3 times a day, which seems to be too much. I've heard many people react negatively to metformin (fortunately I do not) but I'm looking for a natural remedy to maintain my diabetes. I am currently using Berberine Ceylon Cinnamon drops daily & just ordered Ceylon Cinnamon Honey infused liquid. Has anyone had any success managing their type 2 using natural stuff? Thanks

Not saying this could be true for you.
My hubby was diagnosed Type 2 and quickly stayed on the Diabetes Diet, to the exact ounces of all food
and when to eat. Scared the bejessles out of him. It wasn't long and he got it down to normal and has stayed
there for 2 years so far. He had reactions to that medication and made that him religious in what and how much he ate.
He is off medication now and keeping it in check. He may be a rare case I have no idea.

Diabetes is different for each of us and PCPs take a variety of approaches in an effort to control it.

I wouldn’t be concerned with going from two doses of metformin to three as an experiment to see if it had a positive impact.

I take a cocktail of drugs to control my diabetes and they work when I do.

My behavior, diet, and exercise do more to sabotage my efforts to control my A1C than anything else.

I’m 72 and consider anything under 7 to be a good A1C, my PCP is not quite so content with those numbers but we manage to get along.

Good luck!

Same for a friend of mine. He was diagnosed quite a few years back. He's careful about what and how much he eats but not to the extent that he can't enjoy a dish of ice cream. I don't think he was ever on meds but with the diet change and weight loss his A1C stays in the low to mid 6's.

As a prediabetic the doc put me on Metformin. I couldn't deal with the side effects. So I told him I wasn't gonna take it. I also firmly believe my stress levels have an effect on the number as well.
