A US Navy F-18 Super Hornet fighter jet was shot down by friendly fire over the Red Sea on missions involving Yemen/Houthi rebels. Pilots ejected safely.

Two US Navy pilots shot down over Red Sea in apparent 'friendly fire' incident, US military says

The rebels have fired over 100 drones at this point and probably was mistaken although would a much smaller drone show up differently on radar and the fighter have an identifying signal?

The pilots are safe which is the big thing here.
