The Iceland Supermarket in Islington, London, is allowing customers
to relax in a designated area among the freezers, the manager also
gives out "Ice Lollies"!

A great idea, there is a red warning about the danger of death next
week when the temperature is forecast to reach 40C - 42C, (110F -
114F), that is normal to some, be we live in a cooler climate and it
is debilitating to those of us who don't like too much heat.

Aren't ice lollies the same as popsicles?
Nice to know they allow dogs in as well 🐶
popsicles are the same as Ice lollies.. .. and they're not allowing dogs in to the store they just put water outside in a bowl for them..

However this is only one store.. in the whole of the UK.. not just one out of thousands in London.. but of ALL the uk.. can't see people rushing to a particualrly run-down area of London for a free and doubtless, very cheap quality ice lolly..

HollyDolly I love window air conditioners, although I haven't had one in a while. You might consider? How are you thriving without air? I'll take any air at this time, but there is something that feels more comforting about a window unit.

no I cannot have window air conditioners, because I don't have the type of windows that will take them, plus I think they're ugly ...

I'm surving the heat...barely tbh... with the aid of my oscialting fans.. which .. they freeze me on full blast at night when I'm in bed, and I get a very disturbed sleep clicking them on and off all night with the remote control ..getting wayyy too cold, then within minutes of turning them off getting wayyyyy too hot, and having to turn them back on PDQ...

Here ya go @hollydolly no hotel needed. And you get an icee. *Grins*

Most houses in the UK have windows that would not easily fit a window air conditioner unit, unlike Canada or the USA. JImB.
