Ukraine President says goodbye to EU Leaders believing this may be his last days

Sorry, but I think this is so incredibly sad. I don't know how anyone can find humor in this. He has been such a strong supporter of his country, which is admirable considering what they are now experiencing. Did you not see the devastating attacks on Ukraine and the many Ukrainians trying to escape the country to enter Poland? What did I miss? @Murrmurr and @FastTrax please tell me why is this funny?

I can't agree more, I don't see a damn thing funny about any of this, it's heartbreaking. I was getting teary today just watching some footage on the news about what these poor people are going through because of an attack from a power hungry murderous dictator. I admire the Ukrainian people for standing up and fighting for their country, some here can take a lesson from them in patriotism. Much respect for Zelensky. Here is their anthem. :(

No, I don't think what's happening is funny at all. It's absolutely appalling. FastTrax's fizzy pop reference made me laugh because Putin is extremely paranoid about exactly that, poisoned food and drinks...and for good reason.

I apologize if that was misunderstood.

I will always forgive you because I know you are a kind-hearted soul. Thank you for clarifying.

Boris Johnson addresses Ukrainians in their own language..

Boris Johnson has addressed a message directly to the people of Russia, saying in Russian: “I do not believe this war is in your name.”

In a video posted on social media, the prime minister also spoke in Ukrainian, after urging an end to the conflict “because the world needs a free and sovereign Ukraine”.

He said: “The scenes unfolding in the streets and fields of Ukraine are nothing short of a tragedy. Brave young soldiers and innocent civilians are being cut down, tanks are rumbling through towns and cities, missiles raining indiscriminately from the skies.

“It’s a generation or more since we witnessed such bloodshed in Europe. We hoped we would never have to see such sights again.”

On Friday, the UK, US and the EU announced plans to impose personal sanctions on the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, and his foreign minister, Sergei Lavrov, in response to the Russian assault on Ukraine.

As Ukrainians continued to flee across their country’s borders, Johnson said he would bring forward measures “imminently”, while the White House and Brussels said they would freeze the assets of the two Russians.

Britain said it was also extending a ban of Aeroflot flights landing in the UK to cover Russian private jets favoured by Moscow’s oligarchs.

The foreign secretary, Liz Truss, called Moscow “a global pariah”. “Putin’s invasion of Ukraine and violation of the UN charter will have severe consequences,” she said.

Some interesting photos, messages and info from people more directly involved with the Russian invasion of Ukraine. More pics and info in link.
