How special, I'm sure that was a crowd pleaser for her following...

"Ann Coulter is under fire for a racist tirade against new Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley.

In an appearance on the "The Mark Simone Show" podcast this week, Coulter made several xenophobic comments about Haley, the former governor of South Carolina who was born in the U.S. to Indian immigrant parents. "Why don't you go back to your own country?" Coulter said.

Coulter, known for her racist and anti-immigrant stances, attacked India, as well.
Nikki Haley announces presidential bid: 'I'm just getting started'

"Her candidacy did remind me that I need to immigrate to India so I can demand they start taking down parts of their history," she said. "What's with the worshipping of the cows? They're all starving over there. Did you know they have a rat temple, where they worship rats?"

Haley did not respond to a request for comment. nbcnews "

Ann Coulter, nasty and vile as ever...

In the age of tribalism, all tribes accuse the others of being racist and xenophobic. Politicians who promote things for all citizens equally get lost in the shuffle. I remember a documentary on the campaign videos Biden made. One was for Muslims, one for Latinos, one for African Americans, and so on. Has the idea of one for all citizens been lost?

I like the thread, and find it interesting, but am still trying to sort out what is and isn't considered politics here.
Personal opinion only, I think Nikki Haley is news now and we often discuss news here. I consider the "no politics" to mean not starting anything that could get a Biden-bash, Trump-bash, etc. started... But that said, we sure have a few heated gun control threads going and that seems very political to me. I realize that we have resident trolls that stir the pot just to cause controversy no matter what the topic is... not naming names, but thinking they'll show up here, too, soon.

@Nathan I am interested in what in this thread you see as political vs not. You started it.

The focus of this thread is NOT politics, it's about a media personality that is spewing hated and racism targeting a former elected officer holder.
Of course Ann Coulter would hide behind First Amendment free speech protection, and profiting financially, profiting off her divisive, un-American diatribes that is her hallmark.
Such media / media personalities go un-checked and do enormous damage to our society and to our nation. But, nothing can be done, without invoking accusations of censorship. Of course, there is civil recourse for individuals, as Alex Jones discovered with the judgements against him for his "false flag" claims he publicly made, about the Sandy Hook shooting.

Ok, not trying to cause trouble either but I really do not understand the no politics rule here. Nikki Haley is running for president and Coulter has been a political columnist for years. If they aren’t political what is. And while we are at it sometimes political comments seem to be ok for some but not for others. I am willing to follow the rule if someone will make it clear.

To be clear I don’t object to the thread or want to participate in it. I’m just here to get an explanation of the rule, please.

I don’t always understand the way it is enforced.
I'm not sure any of us do.

I think Matrix does his best to keep conflict to a minimum, particularly over politics. Whilst allowing some leeway. The result is some necessarily subjective judgement. Apparently there was a time before I came here that it turned pretty nasty I can see wanting to keep that out. There are other places folks can go to argue and call each other names. I like the reasoned discussions we sometimes have here better.

If in doubt you can send Matrix a pm asking about a specific post or subject, he is usually responsive.
