United States and Israel attack Iran Early Saturday Morning

I
I fear there would be constant discussions about feelings, pie recipes, and what Sally said yesterday to Sue. ;)

I would be all in buying wine and chocolate stocks. 🍷🍫💲💲💲

I
I beg to differ...we had the iron lady Margaret Thatcher running our country for 10 years straight, there was no wine and chocolate from her believe me...

Dubai residents have rushed to shelters with sirens blaring across the UAE as it responds to another Iranian drone attack.

A number of alerts have rung out across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Fujairah, warning residents and visitors to stay safe as Iran continues to furiously attack US allies across the Middle East.

Smoke billowed above the world famous Yas Marina in Abu Dhabi after the UAE confirmed it was struck with a ballistic missile and six drones following a barrage of 131 suicide drones.
Meanwhile, fireball explosions have rocked an oil facility in Bahrain as Iranian drones target key energy production infrastructure across the region.

Plumes of black smoke have risen over the Saudi capital where US diplomats have been warned to take cover following an Iranian missile attack.

The American embassy in Riyadh today issued a security threat with staff urged to shelter. It comes as Saudi Arabia's defence ministry said three Iranian cruise missiles were intercepted and destroyed outside the city of Al-Kharj near Riyadh.

Here's what you need to know today:
  • The UAE has announced a ballistic missile and six drones have falled in the country after Tehran fired a barrage of 131 drones today
  • America is in talks to buy Ukrainian drone interceptors amid fears stocks of Patriot missiles are running low for Gulf states
  • Azerbaijan has confirmed an airport and a school have been struck with drones but Iran has denied it fired the weapons
  • The IDF has revealed details of how Ayatollah Khamenei was lured to his death with fake Shabbat celebrations before a missile was dropped on him from space
  • British nationals branded the first UK evacuation flight a 's***show* after the plane failed to leave Oman because the pilot needed to rest
  • Spain joins Italy, France and Netherlands in sending naval assets to Cyprus in humiliation for Royal Navy
  • Qatar evacuates residents living close to the US embassy in Doha as missiles are intercepted
  • Israeli strikes in Lebanon have killed eight people as new offensive is also carried out in Tehran
  • Fire breaks out at Bahrain oil refinery as Iran targets energy infrastructure across region
  • Smoke billows above Abu Dhabi's Yas Marina following Iranian drone attacks

My understanding is that extremists were able to gain power in Iran with the assistance of other political groups ... then they killed their allies and have essentially enslaved the majority.

You know... I understand that this is not the time and place for humor, but line item#2 seems hilarious to me that America is seeking help from Ukraine after all the help that America has refused to give to Ukraine.
That's just remarkably odd to me... idk.

The US has been shooting down cheap Iranian drones with expensive counter measures and is running out of cheaper drone to drone interceptors, which are more effective than missile interceptors. According to one report the best country equipped to down Iranian drones is Ukraine, which has now become the world's experts in manufacture and use of drone interceptors in the war against Russia, which gets it's drones from Iran. The US, soon to be out of interceptor drones, while Iran is assumed to be well armed with cheap drones, is considering buying what they need from... guess who? Ukraine... Yep. Who would have guessed the US would need help from Ukraine?

The US and Israel in the meantime has alternatively increased it's efforts to destroy Iran's drone supply before they are launched, which apparently accounts for much/most of the bombing of Iran's infrastructure. I think I have that right. It was from the radio while I was driving.

Any celebrations may be premature. Mojtaba Khamenei, son of the late Supreme Leader, is the leading candidate to serve as his father's replacement. He is a hardliner with even deeper ties to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps than his father. and many analysts believe that his leadership could lead to even harder and more brutal domestic control.
I saw a report on WNT that mentioned he would surely be the next target if he does take over. His assassination is expected to be swift.

That could be, but there may be a long list of assassinations then, since any replacement is likely to be the same.

Edited to add: And should that happen, that will guarantee this will be a long, ongoing war, same as the others.

In a related sh*tshow story, the U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security has just been replaced with a former professional wrestler who has a two-year degree in construction.
Jesse Ventura was an ex wrestler and was the governor of Minnesota and now is thinking about a presidential run.

As for Iran and possible domestic attacks hopefully the agencies, departments, agencies etc gathering, monitoring and analyzing domestic intelligence for threats are the people that need to be at the top of their game more than the administrators.

I like Jesse. But his name isn't the one being floated.
Not for that job but the point being ex wrestlers and others sometimes make good politicians/administrators.

For now with Iran I'm more worried what is in place now or what isn't that is supposed to be doing the threat assessments and prevention. In any big organization good administrators know when and who to delegate to. Who ever has the Middle East threat office is who one worries about right now.

Alot of hybrid terrorism is hard to pre detect including the guy that shot up the Texas bar on Sunday. That's they type of threat that needs to be dealt with now.
