University of Queensland has abruptly ended its trials for Coronavirus Vaccine

"Australian vaccine scientist Nikolai Petrovsky had warned the government about the risk of including HIV in a vaccine months before the $1billion deal was signed.

He said the problem with the use of HIV was clear in the 'hamster and mouse data' but his advice was ignored."

Seriously why would they put that in a vaccine?

So does that mean those who received that vaccine now have HIV?

When you hear about one particular car having safety issues and being recalled does it make you concerned about all automobiles?

What I'm saying is that until we know more about the differences between the vaccine with the HIV test false positives and the other vaccines is one shouldn't jump to any conclusions about all Covid vaccines.

I don't know enough about detecting HIV, but its possible that there is more than one test or there are other ways to determine if someone really has HIV other than the test that's giving false positives. So I myself would guess that researchers did enough work to determine the HIV test results were false before reporting the issue. However that is simply me speaking out of my backside because I don't know for sure.
 
Cars in general make me nervous anyway.

They did pull them but lets just suppose for a second that they all have that and they don't find out till it's too late? Would you still want to take one?

As it stands right now with the warnings coming from Pfizer I won't be able to take it. And frankly this causes me concern for the other 2 that are coming.
 
If you already know you're not a good candidate for the Pfizer vaccine I understand your concern about the others.

I myself have enough confidence in the testing programs and in the anecdotal information I'll be getting before being able to get the vaccine that I'm pretty sure I'll be happy to make a choice then.

I'm not positive but at this point it looks like we'll be offered the Pfizer one and I don't know if we'll get any of the others.

It's difficult to find out what the items are. I looked at one label and tried to search for the ingredients. Lots of scientific mumbo jumbo. Nothing I understand.

Based on what I've heard (and I am not following vaccine development that closely) there will eventually be multiple vaccines available and the one you get is probably based on your healthcare provider or network. However since the Pfizer vaccine already has been ruled out for you at the present time, you may be able to get a different one if one becomes available.

Until I can find out what the deal is with these things and get some help understanding what's in them I think I'm gonna hold off.

There's two problems with that, Becky, the first being, as consumers, we're never going to know what goes into the making of the vaccines and drugs we take or are offered/made available to us, and secondly, just as with the food industry, if most of us knew of the tolerance percentage of questionable things that go into the making of a lot of our food, many of us would reel at the thought of ever eating certain things again.

This latest news just goes to show that when a drug is pushed to production too quickly, as the Covid vaccine has been, there's going to be scary and unsettling information that arises relating to.

One report I happened across told of a doctor/scientist strongly advising the maker of the Covid vaccine to NOT use HIV in the making of the vaccine. If that doesn't send shivers up and down ones spine.
