Well, after a year, she realized that it just didn`t work. She had thought it was but then she got bad again. Right after Thanksgiving, they drove from their home in Northern Calif. to San Diego to see the best Pulmonologists in the Country as they are having much success with some new surgical techniques. What they ended up telling her is that her COPD is not THAT bad-it is her heart that is the problem. So today she is having a stent put in-IF they can do it. If not,she will have to have bypass surgery. They say her heart is very strong though. Sitting here nervously waiting to hear an update from my niece.....

I hope they have success helping her. Saying prayers for her as Mrs. Robinson's sister.

Sorry the treatment didn't work for her Mrs.R, wishing her the best with her heart procedure. Pappy, sending positive thoughts your way...hugs.

Well, things actually went better than expected. They were not able to do the stent because she had too much fluid around her heart. So they gave her a strong med so she could get the fluid "peed out" but then discovered that there was no occlusion so no stent or bypass needed. What she does need is a very strong and very expensive med that can only be prescribed by a Pulmonologist. Kind of ironic since they had travelled to San Diego in November to see the "best" Pulmonolgists in the Country and they told her that it was her heart that is the problem:rolleyes::rolleyes: So now she waits for a Pulmonology appt. So hope she can get some relief soon-but very happy that bypass surgery is not in her future.
