Update: Rick Is Having Surgery on Friday

Just want to add my well wishes to this post, Marie....I haven’t interacted much with you yet on here so didn’t feel right at first about saying anything but I have read the whole post.

Hope he gets to come home soon....it’s been quite awhile!
 

Thanks all. It was a weird day. Last evening, Rick called me to say not to bother coming in too early, as they were not doing the surgery until 5PM. This morning, about 9:15 I get a call from a nurse at the hospital, with a change of plans, he was going to surgery as we spoke. So, basically, by the time I was able to get there, he was already in.
The rest, as they say, is done.
So, When I got home this evening, I had forgotten to turn on any lights. So I used the flashlight on my phone to walk in. Worked well. Then my keys. Or car is a remote start, so I just need to have my keys on me to start the car. I KNEW they were in my purse, and obviously got home. I then, am sitting in the driveway dumping my purse trying to find my keys, that I knew were there. Turns out there was a hole in the lining of my purse, and they had burrowed in. Perfect end to the day.

I have to wait to see what doctor says. But I think the IV antibiotic will work that out. A nurse explained it, but by the time she talked to me, I was beyond comprehending stuff. Doctor will be out tomorrow.
 
He may be released back to the rehabilitation center tomorrow or Wednesday. If he is deemed medically well. His foot is healing well and if all he needs is to continue occupational and physical therapy then he would be better off there.
 
Glad the surgery went well Marie. This has been a tough time for the both of you!! Hang in there!
