Updates, and who agreed to download, "Opera"?

Got an update yesterday, so of course, my old desk top was acting strange. I'm not a techie, I can move the mouse and type. I just happened to notice this "O" next to 'Firefox'. Turns out I have a brand new browser, "Opera". I never agreed to down load it. Both my phone and laptop got updates, so I figure this was the same update for my desk top. Opera was messing up my Firefox, causing it to freeze. Got rid of Opera, and the problem. There was no screen that came up saying do you want to install Opera.
 

Actually, the Opera web browser is made by a company in Norway (not Mozilla):

Not sure what you did to get it installed on your device when you didn't want it, but good job deleting it.
 

I used to use Opera. Not sure why I changed over to Firefox. There's nothing nefarious about Opera though. Some companies package it up with their updates, which is beyond annoying.
 
I've used Opera for years. I don't know how you got an automatic install of it, but a recent update they did caused all my bookmarks to disappear. A lot of Opera users were upset, including me. But, they have since fixed it and my bookmarks are back. Maybe they are using AI to do some of their programming now. :)
