Updating an old thread about the broken leg/ankle

It's five, almost six months now since I did the awful deed. I had a couple of infections, treated well, at a great cost to me. I'm mostly walking well, with a fair bit of a limp, as long as I don't try to go too far.

Have found that I've had a nerve injury problem - injured that with the accident.

Spoke with both the specialist and my own doctor.

It may heal over time, but then again it may not.

At the moment, I can can hardly bear to have the sheets on my bed sitting/rubbing on my ankle/leg.

I've had to choose and buy shoes that are cut down real low.

Can only wear the softest of socks, like bed-socks for everyday use. Anything else causes irritation and soreness.

Now I think a pin may be coming out - I can feel a lump, and the skin has erupted into what looks like a small ulcer. The specialist told me that might happen and that he could remove it. But it could mean that I need to go back into plaster while the bone repairs.

I'm just so much over this injury.

Grannjo, I so sorry that nasty ankle break is giving you so much hassle. It has been a bad hindrance in your normal routine, but you shouldn't rush it. Find yourself a pretty cane, and start a fashion statement. Let us know how you fare, and stick around here for some shenanigans. :bighug:
