Upside-Down Fruitcake

You gotta like glacƩ fruits! My mom used to make killer fruitcake - she liked the dark batter ones with plenty of fruit and nuts. You could hardly cut it! I don't know where her recipe is, though. I may come across it one of these days.
 
I took over from my grandmother as the family fruit-cake baker, but quit many years ago. It was a 2 1/2-day affair to make a bunch of fruitcakes and it cost a FORTUNE! Now one of my male cousins makes them and sends me one. Whoopee!
