US/Administration Closes 2 Russian Compounds & Expels 35 Officials

1.) A poster who doesn't even live in the U.S. knows more than our CIA and other intelligence organizations. He/she "knows" Russia did not influence our election by cyber-hacking. It's great to know we are in the presence of such greatness. The CIA may well be asking him/her to assist in their intelligence gathering.
2.) A poster is upset because the President-elect has been called a facist and Nazi. Says such denigrating of a President is unprecedented. Short memories evidently don't recall the current President being called a Muslim, not a natural born citizen, his wife and children referred to in numerous unkindly terms.
3.) They have told us over and over how this President is weak and won't stand up to other world leaders. When he does stand up and impose sanctions against Russia, they suggest he should not have stood up to such an innocent and upstanding ally as Russia is. Sure....
4.) Our intelligence organizations say Russia did hack into our election process. Our President imposes sanctions against Russia. A President-elect publicly states his good friend, Putin, is to be applauded for not retaliating against the sanctions and that he and Putin will "work things out" after he is inaugurated. Talk about unprecedented!! When was the last time an American leader took the side of a tyrant against our own President???!!!
:iagree:

As posted elsewhere, yes, there are some who questioned the President's religion and place of birth. Does that really compare to "Nazi"? If so, you really do not think much of Muslims or Kenyans.

He has been weak, he has not stood up to represent American interests. The issue with the hacking has to do with two aspects - 1) overreaction over revealing the truth about the DNC and the timing; 2)lack of action regarding all the other hacking.

Grumpy Ol' Man,

Thanks for taking the time, and spending the energy and effort to set the record straight, for those here that have skewed / limited perspective on national and world events.

Applying Occam's razor, especially when there is no bias coming from wanting Russia to be behind the exposure of what a true horror Hillary is, results in separating hysteria and bigotry from cold fact.

There is absolutely not one iota of evidence or legitimate suspicion that Russia had anything to do with exposing Hillary for what she is and what a narrow escape the US and for that matter the whole world had by her failing the basic decency filter.

Not a true Hillary fan, I take it. There is absolutely not one iota of evidence or legitimate suspicion that Hillary was/is as evil as your 'information' sources suggest. The e-mail matter made good copy for rallying/enraging the faithful of the right[wing], but had no more insidious purpose, than when Colin Powell or Condeleeza Rice used their private e-mail servers.

There is absolutely not one iota of evidence or legitimate suspicion that Russia had anything to do with exposing Hillary for what she is and what a narrow escape the US and for that matter the whole world had by her failing the basic decency filter.

It is comforting to know that we have someone here on the forum that [apparently] has much better information sources than the CIA. Would you care to share those sources?

Hillary lied again and again until cornered and had to come clean, or at least as clean as she ever could given her innate nature.

As for the rest, your CIA has proven to be - let us say less than reliable or trustworthy.

Even so by having been unable to produce anything other than speculation and without any solid verifiable evidence, and if they had any it would have been posted in 40 point headlines in newspapers, the whole sad and failed attempt to besmearch Russia has become clear for what it was.

A vile attack on a nation in an attempt to divert attention from Hillary and her misconduct and lies, and pique that Russia in a few weeks had resolved a terrorist attack on the legitimate Syrian government that Obama and his gangsters had been happy to see overthrown and spent years surreptitiously supporting in a number of ways.

It is very ironic that the right wing, which for decades has been so staunchly anti Russia / anti totalitarian would now embrace a world power that would celebrate the demise of the U.S. That these same right-wingers would turn on their own country and government, and support the subversion of the U.S. is just astonishing.

The term "New World order" has taken on a new dimension.

Russia is not the USSR.

Russia has taken the new dimension.

The subversion of the US has taken place under Obama and his gangsta administration. It was the same for us under Tony Blair. And just as it took a while for Joe Public to realise what he had done so it will no doubt take a while for the GAP to realise what Obama and his shower have done.

But they will.

In fact they have started with the rejection of Hillary.

If you don't think the hacking is a serious threat, you are wrong.

Russian operation hacked a Vermont utility, showing risk to U.S. electrical grid security, National Security officials say
Washington Post December 31, 2016

(excerpt) A code associated with the Russian hacking operation dubbed Grizzly Steppe by the Obama administration has been detected within the system of a Vermont utility, according to U.S. officials.

While the Russians did not actively use the code to disrupt operations, according to officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss a security matter, the discovery underscores the vulnerabilities of the nation’s electrical grid. And it raises fears in the U.S. government that Russian government hackers are actively trying to penetrate the grid to carry out potential attacks.

Officials in government and the utility industry regularly monitor the grid because it is highly computerized and any disruptions can have disastrous implications for the country’s medical and emergency services.

I do not think there is any "embracing" going on here. What you see is a petulant child stirring up trouble for his successor to deal with. From my perspective, I want the leaders of Russia to come to the table with a sense of mutual respect for our leaders so that rational minds can prevail.

I have seen no "right-winger" supporting subversion. What I have seen is a President who ignored hacking of all types until it became a vehicle for him to deal with his pettiness.

Yes, hacking is a problem that I hope Trump deals with more effectively than Obama did. But, what is your "new world order" concern about the DNC being hacked - who did it or the truth it revealed. It seems a bit strange to make such a big deal out of the revelation of the information while ignoring the content of the information.

Build it cheap and you get a cheap system. The cheap control network has been substantially hardened with a change in architecture that is based on a number of autonomous cells. The real weakness in your power grid is the reliance on multiple paths to provide load sharing and as happened in the Great New York power out distribution resilience remains an ongoing problem.

It's a similar situation here in the UK though we are able to import power from (mainly) France through load sharing interconnectors but the electrical grid is very under provisioned and is an increasing cause for concern especially in view of Islamic terrorist activity here.
