US marines arriving in Australia ready 'for anything' in wake of North Korean threat

And all without UN Security Council approval. There's increasing resentment about UN military bases in Western Europe and especially the UK.

UN Security Council Approval for joint training exercises? I don't think so.

Our defence force engages in joint training for the Indonesians, Japanese and Americans and possibly several others that I haven't taken note of. Australia has oceans, jungles and deserts and our defence systems are highly integrated with respect of equipment and manoeuvres. Joint training makes sense.

I agree, I don't see the need for any approval with training exercises! These are defencive training and yes, that does make a lot of sense to me, too.

I agree, it is quite frightening. It is also worrying that that crazy little guy in North Korea will start the war himself. Two egomaniacs in a stare-down isn't good.
Why would a tiny little country like N. Korea want to start a war?
Wouldn't it be bombed to smithereens at the slightest attempt?
Seems idiotic and stupid!

Because The Beloved, Glorious, Superior, Dear, Respected, Wise, Brilliant, Unique, Great, Peerless, and/or Amazing Leader (and I quote from official bulletins + there are many many more official titles) is a stark-raving-mad egomaniac who would bite off his own nose to spite his face. But, to shorten it, we can just call him the Crazy Fat Guy.
