US TV commercials!

Fortunately, I don't have cable so watching commercials is not an issue for me. I cut the cable 23 years ago. At that time the commercials were made specifically for "not the brightest of God's creatures." Today, I cannot even begin to imagine how silly/stupid/demeaning some of the commercials are? In that way, I would say "ignorance is bliss."
 
Appropriate as in racially sensitive. If I were a black person, I would be insulted by the way the media panders to a certain ethnic group. But money talks!
 
I guess you missed the point and I am sure I will be severely criticized for this comment, but has the Black population in the US increased to equal or well over 50 percent of the total US population? Is that the reason every commercial has one or more black actors and every married couple is a racially mixed couple? Come on, Man!!

Since that George Floyd incident, a couple of years ago, hundreds/thousands of good paying commercial "opportunities" have been created for Blacks, as companies strive to show their support for being "politically correct".
 
I usually watch TV while I eat supper. I'm tired of watching people apply deodorant or shaving their legs and underarms while I eat!
That Lume commercial is very distasteful.

@rwb ~ I know what you mean about mixed couples being featured so much. I'm glad they feature mixed couples, but how about showing some old fashioned white couples and black couples for a change?

I find myself turning the volume off on most of them or checking the weather channel for updates when they're on.

I agree many are off target or just "correct". I don't care for national animal groups asking for money. I support my local shelters or food pantries w/animal food because I know where & who is getting the help.

Lume commercials are just plain stupid ... just take a show folks if you smell that bad! Or go to a doctor to see what's wrong.

Now I do enjoy the Chewy commercials. I'm stuck between Giorgio & Ralph with the peanut butter box or the Scottish Fold who feels accomplished with her order.
 
I've been taking care of my Mom for last 2 weeks. We typically watch the news during dinner and that's been showing a lot. She's 98 and gives me an odd look like what the hell?
 
I find the Car Shield commercials are the most offensive. Car Shield is the biggest rip off scam. They have an F rating from the Better Business Bureau. They just ignore it and continue to spend millions on their commercials. There is endless complaints about them on the internet. They have so many loop holes to get out of paying for repairs. My mechanic has had so many problems with them, trying to get them to pay for customer's repairs.
