User names

Mostly I have used this name right from the start on all forums. I have in the past, been on several message forums with some of the same people, and it helps us find each other. LOL

Manatees are mammals that live in the waters here in Florida. They are large but not a danger to people.

Just before I retired, I was in the crew lounge in Phoenix filing some paperwork before a flight when a new pilot that had just started at United within the last few months walked up to me and said, "Hey, oldman, I asked a fellow over there if they knew who Capt. so-and-so was and they pointed to you. I am First Officer so-and-so and I am flying with you today." The Supervisor happened to be standing alongside of me and heard the comment. He called the young man into his office and after they had their talk, I was given an apology. I wasn't offended by him calling me oldman, but standing among my peers, I thought it to be very disrespectful. I had an excellent reputation as a flyer among my peers and I just thought that at that particular moment, he was rude. I retired with 34 years of flying with no accidents and no reportable incidents and that is considered a very good career. Anyway, that stuck with me and when I subscribed to this board, I used it as a reminder never to be offensive to anyone's postings.

I was always under the impression that you have to earn the right to talk down to someone.

I just registered, and I made a typo that gave me a name I hadn't intended. I got SpicyTweet, when I actually intended SpicyTweed, which was a reference to the cologne my late mother always used. It was Tweed by Lentheric, and I love the scent, which has a nostalgic connection for me. It was sometimes given to her as a gift on Mother's Day. I gotta slow down and watch out for those typos, haha!

I love going to the movies, but so far this yr I've only seen 10,compared to last yr when I saw 27. I haven't seen a good movie this summer except for'Baby Driver' which was original, with a great cast Ansel Elgort,Kevin Spacey,Jamie Foxx&Jon Hamm, terrific soundtrack. I'm tired of reboots, sequels even though I saw "Guardians of The Galaxy Vol 2' which was ok, but not as good as the original. Sue
