A group of friends were talking about the food we had when serving in the military. Guys spoke of C-rations, and other forms of food out in the bush. A former Navy guy responded, "it was tough, once we ran out of Canadian Bacon for two days." I'm not worried about our military going without food. Navy vessels spend months at sea and meals aren't missed.
