USN aircraft carrier crews are running out of food because of not being resupplied.

The USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier is running out of food to feed their crew. Two small meals a day, made from ration packs that USMC members eat while in combat situations. Photos of the very skimpy meals have surfaced, sent home by USN sailors to their families.

Here is a link to Military Watch Magazine. It outlines why this is happening. In order to resupply such huge USN ships, they need to go to a safe harbor, to be resupplied. The closest port that can handle such huge ships is far from the operating area that the USN needs to stay close to.

The USN aircraft carrier has about 4500 crew, who need to be fed at least 2 times per 24 hour time period. So at least 9,000 meals per 24 hour operational day per ship.

I don't know but I see that as propaganda aimed at getting a rise out of the uninformed. The Navy and the Air Force are known for their excellent table. A group of friends were talking about the food we had when serving in the military. Guys spoke of C-rations, and other forms of food out in the bush. A former Navy guy responded, "it was tough, once we ran out of Canadian Bacon for two days." I'm not worried about our military going without food. Navy vessels spend months at sea and meals aren't missed.

It was based a photo. Maybe someone didn't like the selection/menu and showed what he or she wound up choosing.

That being said the extra long deployment has to be taking it's toll at this point including food stores.

I will point out that the USS Abraham has been at sea for over 300 days, and that is the longest that any usn ship has been at sea, in fifty years.

It wasn't a choice. It was what they were served.

do know that they have multiple ways to be provisioned.....so not
