USPS Informed Delivery Feature

I signed up for USPS "Informed Delivery" last year(?) and each day receive an email of the USPS "Daily Digest". The daily digest lists all expected USPS deliveries for that day and upcoming expected package deliveries. While there are no pictures of packages (just a listing) or filler/flyers in the daily digest, they do show an actual photo of the letter mail expected for delivery that day.

If there are no expected deliveries that day, they simply do not send a daily digest email. Helps to let me know if I even need to check my mailbox or not that day.

I'm pretty happy with the Informed Delivery USPS feature and thought I'd share for those who may not of ever heard of it ...

I use it and find it to be very helpful.

Mine is free.

Often it shows a picture of the mail piece being delivered that day.

For me, the biggest advantage is making sure to be home on days when a package too large for the mailbox will be left unattended.

It's free and it lets you know what to expect in the mail each day as well as any upcoming expected package deliveries.

I might add, this is only a feature for the Unites States Postal Service (USPS) that I'm talking about.
Don't know if other countries have a similar feature or not.

My off-road club uses a PO Box for mail. There isn't much, so the club key-holder doesn't go much. A couple months ago here in Albuquerque they added PO Boxes to addresses with Informed Delivery, just in time for our membership renewal season where a few people mail in checks. I got it on my home address when it started years ago.
 
We use USPS Informed Delivery because mail is not delivered to our home. We have neighborhood postal stations so we have to drive or walk about 3 blocks to pick up our mail. Informed Delivery works great to see what mail is coming each day. About 90% is junk mail so we only have to go maybe twice a week to pick up mail.

Only problem is things like catalogs, you are never "informed" in the daily email of these bulk items. Sometimes the mail box is stuffed with junk you did not know you were receiving.
 
I rarely get mail, and so I stopped using Informed Delivery. I have noticed some companies' efforts to thwart porch pirates (or, in my case, lobby pirates, given that I live in an apartment building). Sephora, for example, always sends an email notifying me of when a package has been delivered.
 
Yes, I have had this service a while, it is a great help to me as my mailbox is a long walk, so with this service I only go 2 or 3 days a week now, I've also set up a table just inside my garage for all deliveries, that saves a lot of carrying and lifting boxes.
 
We've had Informed Delivery for a number of years for our P.O. Box and love it. It saves us unnecessary trips to the post office and, occasionally, prompts an unscheduled trip into town if something arrives that requires immediate attention. Overall, it save a lot of time and gasoline.

We do go in at least once a week to clear out the junk mail. :)
