Vaccination cards will be issued to everyone getting Covid-19 vaccine, health officials say

The Department of Defense released the first images of a Covid-19 vaccination record card and vaccination kits Wednesday.
Vaccination cards will be used as the "simplest" way to keep track of Covid-19 shots, said Dr. Kelly Moore, associate director of the Immunization Action Coalition, which is supporting frontline workers who will administer Covid-19 vaccinations.

I think vaccinations for other things are reported to some central reporting place, too; at least they used to be. I think the lab told me the flu shots were, for sure -- it's how they keep track of adverse effects and also how effective the vaccinations are.

I know that in the early days of the polio vaccinations they were all reported, and also the Sabin oral vaccines.

I don't have any problem with that.

Proof of vaccination isn't a new concept.

I was issued a vaccine card for each of my children when they got their first inoculations. The doctor's office filled and signed a line with the info as each new vaccine was administered. I needed to show that card when enrolling them for school.

I probably still have their cards somewhere.

This sort of record keeping is used for other inoculations also. I received a card when I got my first shingles shot, telling me the date about 3 months in the future when my second one was scheduled. They're really a lot like those appointment cards the doctors give when you are at their office.

Aw, shucks. I was so looking forward to a chip implant or a forearm tattoo.
