I'm so sorry to hear this. He was a terrific actor, one of my favorites. May he rest in peace.🌹

65? I would have bet he was at least 15 years older than that. I don't know when I first noticed him, but I think I was young. He played some very good roles, and deserves the acclaim, but he's been off my radar for quite some time.
 
Sad but he had a good run even though short. When I heard throat cancer it was all but a foregone conclusion he'd be leaving soon. The cancer is bad enough but the scaring and damage surgery and cemo do for that is just as tough.

Several movies that I remember him for included Top Gun, Tombstone and HEAT. They said he was a student of his craft. Acting was a profession and passion for him

Did you know that Val Kilmer was one of the youngest students accepted at Julliard?

After graduating from school, Kilmer wanted to become an actor and go to the best drama school. He initially applied to Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London but was rejected as they don't accept students under 18. He then applied to the next best school, Julliard, and was accepted at the age of 17 in their Drama division, becoming one of the youngest students at Julliard.
