Valentines Day -- What Did You Do To Cope?

I was wondering with Valentines Day just behind us and spring holidays right around the corner, how did you cope if you were alone (widowed or not)?
I was a bit concerned and really wanted to just sleep the day away.
So my grand niece and I decorated little pink ducks and passed them out at the nursing home my late sister worked at. It was fun to do the decorating and I hope that I was able to instill in her the love of volunteering that my mom instilled in us.
Still finding my way through the grief, but having a first like this go okay, I just may make it :)

It was just another day to me., but I took myself out for a nice coffee and asked the waitress did she have a nice Valentine's Day.
She told me she was single but a few of her girlfriends bought some lovely flowers and went into the city and handed out single stems to strangers in the street, just to wish them a lovely day. What a kind gesture. I thought they made someone happy. .

The last valentines day I celebrated was the first one after my divorce from the agent. I gathered all my jewerly he had bought me over 30 yrs auctioned it if it was good, then the other precious stones in rings braclets and others I pawned. Then I called him and told him.

But hell I wasn't bitter...he just shouldn't have done it with people I knew. If he had kept it in it's pouch ......... 🐍
