Valerie Harper (Rhoda) family creates a GoFundMe

Well the stupid thing is, some dumbwads are contributing to those GoEfMe things.

Bulletin for Valerie: I'm sorry you are sick. Please sell your Beverly Hills Mansion to pay your expenses and let us know how that goes. I will not be sending my social security income to you.

I meant to say something about the house when I saw a comment upthread. I'll leave Valerie alone - this is to husband Tony: It just ain't right for people with your wealth to beg strangers for money. Sell the house. You'll still have plenty of money.

Just curious, has anyone been treated for cancer here and what was the final hospital bill including what the insurance paid?
When my husband had colon cancer surgery last year the total bill was over $120,000 U.S. I think we paid about $1,800 of that. I forgot exact amt.

One of my favorites are those women who shave their heads & start a Go Fund Me......"I'll die if I can't pay for my cancer treatment."

Another is the "Wounded Warrior Project." Even after that scam was exposed, they can still afford to pay that Country musician to advertise it. Well, what better way to get donations than showing disabled veterans?

From what I saw on the GoFundMe site, people create an account, tell their story, and withdraw money anytime they want. There's no follow up verification. Maybe dog needs surgery or maybe someone needs a year of mani-pedis and facials.🤔

I thought the WWP was legit. I knew some clown in Indiana was posting bad stuff about it, but then had to retract all of it by order of a Federal judge after the WWP filed suit against him.

Agree. I have not been able to find anything about it being a scam. (There are some scammers who pretend to be affiliated with WWP, however.)

According to the internet her husband, Tony Cacciotti, has a net worth of 27 million. So that's 39 million when you add in her 12 million. Plus I think it's reasonable to assume that insurance is covering at least 80% since she should have Medicare. I think we should all get together and ask Tony for some money to help us upgrade our lifestyles.

What scam?
Almost all the money donated was found to be going into the pockets of the people who do the "charity" work & only a few pennies on each dollar (if even that) were going to veterans. Unfortunately, that's how it is with just about all charities - to some degree. They are businesses - with big expenses & people who donate are paying for them - along with big salaries. They know how to get people's emotions up so they lose their common sense - The Muscular Dystrophy Telethon was really good at that - parading paralyzed kids around in their new wheelchairs - to show where the money goes (to the gullible). The NRA is another one - "We're fighting for you gun rights...." yeah....with the 7-figure incomes of their employees?

I only donate directly. When that's not possible, I don't donate. I don't think it's right to reward thieves.
Buy hey....if it makes anyone feel warm & fuzzy, maybe it's worth it. But you're rewarding scam artists.

@win231

Regarding Wounded Warriors Program there are also reports about lots of money being spent on lavish "conferences" at luxury hotels. Two top execs were fired. I think the singer you refer to who they pay is Trace Adkins. Bottom line is the organization is spending or has spent a lot of money on things other than the veterans they claim to be helping.

I discovered that about the Wounded Warriors Program. They send a lot of "gifts". I stopped giving but had to call them up to tell them finally to take me off their mailing list. They finally did, but once in a while I still get their mailings. Yeah, I remember a singer on TV who was a country western singer. I guess if someone is paid enough they'll do that without checking into it first.

Getting back to Valerie, I don't know what other family is in contact with her but according to the reports I read the GoFundMe was created by her husband Tony and her personal assistant. 🤔

"Rhoda" has been dying for a long time, now. About ten years ago, I caught her on a talk show where she divulged that she probably wouldn't live to see the coming new year. Then, on that dance competition show, a few years back, she pulled a similar line.

It's obvious she has no shame. First, she fished for sympathy, now she's flat-out fishing for money, when she has lots of it.

Disgusting, just disgusting!

People have taken giving to a new height. Technology has made suckers out of us in more ways than one.
As I sit here online using it to insult it.

I think it would be fun to start a go fund me page with the title "Are you gullible?" "Send $5 to find out!" LOL! I wouldn't doubt someone would fall for it.
