Variety is the spice of life and good for the brain…

Please write what all you did today!

I remember hearing on the radio some years back that a person should drive a different route to work once in a while, as often as possible, to challenge your brain. Well, for me, there was really only one feasible route unless I wanted to take 2 hours to get there, but the point stuck. Don’t get in a rut is the key.

So, with that in mind, here’s today’s list: Early this morning, I took my big camera outside and got some neat pics of the snow, I finished reading a book, loaded some dishes into the dishwasher, cleared out a couple bathroom cabinets for later sorting and trashing (it’s been on my project list), did two loads of laundry, and worked on a puzzle. Now it’s time to figure out something for dinner.

Rut? Who is stuck in a rut? Can't happen when it involves 4 dogs and 1 cat in the mix. And living in the country with 4 guineas.

The biggest things I did yesterday, get the big girl on the table and groom her. Then spent way too much time drying dogs as they kept going outside and getting wet.

I contemplated the world this morning, then have coffee and breakfast with Misa, and have our morning chat. Then on to studying the subjects that fascinate me and clean the kitchen Too cold to walk outside, walk inside for a long while.

Outdoor chores in the balmy 15F weather. Then rest time till supper. Then catch up on what happened in the world today and get ready for bed. Fun day. :)

IMO variety is overrated! 😉🤭😂

During my working years, we were encouraged to take different routes to and from work, vary our routine, etc… to discourage kidnappers and other assorted evil doers.

I’m not sure how great the risk was but it did give us a few good laughs.

I have spent years developing my routine and enjoy living in my comfortable little rut.

I built some speaker stands over the past few weeks so I could spread the front speakers out a bit more and get more immersive surround sound while vegging on the couch watching movies. Yesterday, I put on the first coat of paint. This afternoon, I'll apply another.

I'm maximizing my couch potato experience.
