How can we tell on here who or where a post/reply comes from & or who it is intended for ? Hard to know if they do not quote , or reply with name/nic included.
Most people here seem to use the quote function but some don't. I don't always use it especially just posting to the last person who posted before me. I guess you'd have to make a wild guess if they don't quote! How can we tell on here who or where a post/reply comes from & or who it is intended for ? I don't get it! It's so easy to use the quote feature.I agree, unless somebody uses the Reply With Quote button, making it easy to see who they are replying to, it is hard to know. Using their name in your reply is the next best thing. Sometimes if we reply to the previous post above, it's obvious, but not always....especially if someone else just added another response before you.

Sometimes I reply to the person above and when
I post my bit I find that there were another 3 or 4
pages after where I was reading, not so much now
though.
I worry about using the "Reply With Quote! function
as the servers will get really filled up and start to go
slow when the Bandwidth is reached, or am I being
silly and you have plenty of space.
Mike.
you are always going to run into the quote or don't quote type of response on a forum.
What is worse is when someone 'cherry picks' part of a quote so that it loses its context and meaning to make a point.
yes, i agree. A person goes to the trouble of making a post and then someone else comes along and selects a single sentence or even just a few words in an attempt to refute the entire post.
