Vaxx status?

I'm not asking you because it's none of my business if you are or are not vaxxed. But did anyone ever ask you for your vaxx status during the pandemic?
Only one person ever asked me for my vaxx status when they lifted the mask laws in my state for vaccinated people only. I was grocery shopping and the cashier asked me if I was fully vaccinated so I told her what she wanted to hear. She was the only one ever who asked me and it's funny now because she complains to me about how this whole thing is just endless and she's disillusioned with the whole health care system in the U.S. How things do change if you wait long enough. But did anyone ever make a point of asking you for your vaxx status?

Never was asked for my status. I got the original two shots in late spring of 2021, but never got any boosters. Right after my shots, I had a full year of IBS symptoms so bad that I lost 50 pounds (which I needed to lose). But it made me afraid to get boosters. It could have just been a coincidence, or anxiety, but who knows. I'm not anti-vax at all, by the way. Just stating my experience.

My job. Had to be vaccinated and boosted x1 to keep it. I hope it's not mandated again. I don't really want another one. I don't know if the stroke in my eye was caused by it or coincidence.

Everyone who knows me knows I'm not vaxxed. If a stranger asks, I have no problem telling them. If they ask why, I also have no problem telling them why. Last year, I had a new dentist for extensive work - extraction, root canal & bridge. No one even asked me if I was vaxxed. At the time, masks were required & my temperature was taken when I arrived. That was rather funny because when I had Covid a few weeks ago, I never had a temperature. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Yes, I’ve had to show my card. One of the places was at the casino.

Also, to go to the US you have to be vaxxed.

Yes, a few times. That I can remember:
  • When I went to the doctor it was a standard question for a year or two, not so much now.
  • When I went to a rehab place for my knees, it was required for admittance.
  • When I was in Louisiana in New Orleans they supposedly had a requirement to show your card in restaurants and shops in the French Quarter, I just kept mine out, but I could see that it was not being uniformly enforced. That seems gone now.
  • Crossing the border into Canada.
  • Some people asked, some still do but now its more as part of a discussion than out of concern.
When I joined a gym
My gym never asked, they just instituted a separation policy (mostly ignored) and asked that we clean all equipment with a disinfectant before and after each use. The disinfection thing continues, and they say is now permanent, epidemic or not. I am pretty sure I got my case of covid at the gym.

Only once, at a restaurant. I wasn't asked for proof though, just asked whether I was vaccinated. I remember thinking how terrible & wrong it was for restaurant personnel to become vaxx police. It wasn't fair for them, and potentially dangerous.

When I went with my step daughter to her first appointment with her surgeon after she was diagnosed with cancer, we were all asked. That was in early 2022.

A family member who stayed with us for a couple days mid 2022 asked if we were vaccinated as we were making the arrangements for her visit.

My doctor, who wanted the info added to my medical record.

That’s all I can think of. I have offered the information freely when I thought it was necessary.

Other than medical personnel only my family and one close friend asked if I was going to get the shot, when was I going to get it, did I get it, etc. You know how daughters are. My son doesn't nag. He just wanted to know about side effects, etc.

Absolutely. When we travelled we were asked to show proof of vaccinations for the hotels we stayed in, any self serve buffets, restaurants we went to as well as bakeries. We got asked about 6 or 7 times but we travelled during lock down and then right afterwards

Yes, we had the first two shots back in 2021. Last fall I got Covid, and it was no big deal. I had an initial temperature and got really tired, took a test and tested positive. Called my doctor and he prescribed some anti-virus pills. I took them for 5 days and had no more symptoms.

Two months later I got the Flu, tested again to see why I was sick, and it was a Type A flu. I got really sick with it, first time I can ever recall getting the flu. But it passed after a few days and I have been good since. We will not get another Covid shot, but we will continue to take a flu shot every fall.

Thought about this some more.

Had to show my card at the hospital the other day. They still give out clean masks to everyone that comes in.

Restaurants, once they opened up, required seeing the card.

I know there were other places, just can’t think of them.

I don’t know if Canadian airlines still require the card. Masks aren’t required right now, knock on wood.

I keep a copy of my card in my photos on my phone.

I take others fishing weekly we all agreed to keep in a binder everyone's status to go with us you haves to have the vaccine and boosters also a semi currant COVID testing proof or very simple just a no go with us. only 1 person was offended so he is now just a memory to us easy choice there, yes I have been asked many times for my card. We have not had COVID, none of our main group has and hope to stay that way. Every non vaccinated person I know has had COVID.

I was out of the military and had left the Pentagon just when the Virus was being talked about, or when I started to hear about the Virus. My job had no connections with anything to do with any health issues. Everything I heard was by word of mouth, or otherwise known as rumors. I first heard the rumor from a person that worked for Secretary Azar and that was in early November, 2019. He said not to repeat it, but I had planned to resign my position on 12/31 of that year.

I am fully vaccinated and have had the booster shot. I have had Covid once and had to go into quarantine for 1 week. Came out okay and only last week I was feeling a little tired, with a sore throat so bought a self-testing Antigen Rapid Test only to learn I have tested Positive again. Now I am in lockdown but feeling okay.

I’m recently retired nurse. About ten years back, a few weeks after a norovirus outbreak in my facility, I happened to get sick with it on a holiday weekend when I was on-call to cover other nurses’ call-ins. Rather than call in myself, I decided to be a hero and go to work. My symptoms resolved after a few days (typical for noro). When I returned to work the next weekend, I learned that one of my residents had died of noro during the week.

Never again.

I am vaxed and have been since the vaccine became available.

During the pandemic, before the vaccine became available, we had a not-very-good CNA working in my small (58 beds) facility. She went on vacation out-of-state, decided to return to work while sick with Covid (positive test). A month later, 30 out of 58 residents were dead.

This is why vaccination of healthcare workers became mandatory in my state.

How is that "being a hero?" You could have infected other people.
I agree - I hit the post button by accident before finishing. I hit the edit button to finish my thought, but for some reason, the incomplete post was put up following the finished one. Sorry!
