Vegetarians?

My doctor told me red meat is bad for me so I've been eating chicken and turkey more. Then I've actually been eating more veggies and pasta dishes without meat or poultry lately. I was an ovo-lacto vegetarian for 10 years years ago and it was easy for me. I felt better, too. For financial reasons I have been changing my diet but it benefits me physically, too.

One of my kids is, the other.........don't have any explanation for her......Pain in the pattotie to serve 'em dinner.

Two of my nieces, sisters, are like that. The one who went veggie just developed a mindset that we shouldn't raise animals in confinement, feed them drugs, then eat them. It's more of a protest than an alternative lifestyle choice. The veggie niece turned us on to some really good veggie dishes. The exception would be tofurkey --- I've tried it several times and can't manage it.

I am not a vegetarian. I eat many vegetarian meals, but I do eat fish or chicken two or three times a week. I just feel better when I eat the way I do -- for some reason red meat tends to leave me feeling kind of "icky," which I can't exactly explain except I guess sluggish is the closest word to describe it.

I'm not a vegetarian, but don't usually eat a lot of meat, simply because it is more trouble to prepare. I'll go for a while, then get a craving for meat, and eat little else for a week or so. What makes me feel most icky (sluggish) is simple carbs---the easiest of all to prepare, usually just open a box. {sigh}

I had a girlfriend. And one year we went to the county fair, where this steer was judged the best. Err, one of the perks of being the winner was .... he was dinner for the rest of the fair. She was petting him, when she found out what his prize was going to be. She became a vegetarian. I got to admit, it bothered me, too. That was 20+ years ago. The nearest town had about 20,000. There wasn't a whole lot of veggie restaurants around. It was a bear trying to find veggies places, when we went out. That was before she was spotted in line at a McDonalds. !!!!

Sugar makes me feel icky and sluggish, too, as does eating most simple carbs. I pretty much avoid them, but I'm not obsessive about it.

Another reason I eat so little red meat is it has gotten so dang expensive.

My daughter is a vegetarian. She doesn't like killing of animals. I asked her, then why are you eating all their food?
