Some how I have come to believe that I am either a super miracle man or some special kind of stupid.
Seems all the other veterans I know ,combat or not have some percentage of disability. I never hurt my back playing a pickup game of football, I never injured my shoulder while driving drunk on leave, I never had an emotional break down leading to discharge.

Apparently by some stroke of luck I managed to honorably serve 4 years in the USMC with out injuring my self to the degree that the government owes me a lifetime of compensation.

I am going for special kind of stupid!

I was a sailor from 57 to 59, no one was shooting in that time and I was fine with that. There were no self inflicted injuries either. My problems are more age related.

I am a Korean War Vet and served four years as a Aircraft Instrument technician working initially on F86 Sabre Jets and the last two years of my enlistment on B-47's. Lots of time on the Flight Line before protective ear cover became required. As a result I receive a 70% disability pension for severe hearing loss.

I served (UK, just to avoid confusion!) from 53 until 93 and ended up with a disability, and pension.

This has just (last year) been re-assessed at 40% and I have been given an extra Mobility Supplement.
