Viewing the Internet ??

tower. sits on the floor to which is connected my all in one scanner, printer, copier. also has my dvd dual layer burner which I use to backup/copy data I wish to save. Handles the usb2 high speed flash drives I also use. connected to internet via modem (phone line). I play many of my dvd movies on it because I can copy images from the dvd that make neat desktop backgrounds. Have had tablets in the past but they require wifi.

But if you have a connection with your phone line, doesn't that give you a connection to your tablet through the modem? Mine does.

Desktop . . Most with a big monitor and a good keyboard (I'm a touch typist)
laptop . . . once in a while, like on trips
tablet . . . for recipes on the kitchen counter
Phone . . . rarely used for internet, but I just upgraded to 4G and do admit that it's nice to have / use, so that will probably change. Just yesterday my GPS couldn't find a place I wanted to go, so I pulled out the phone and used Google Maps (turned out that the GPS has it under a different name).

I keep things very simple, I get by with a powerful laptop. The fancier your set up is the more time you have to spend keeping your data in sync or updated to the different devices. I do not have or use a smart phone because I know my laptop is much smarter. Sometimes, I think a smaller and lighter inexpensive tablet (Amazon Fire HD8) could be useful when I am traveling. But since I don't read books, watch movies, play games, I discounted that as a compliment to my laptop. One device with a physical keyboard is very important to me.

Desktop.. In my man cave in a deep dark corner-closet way back in the house.
My lab dog hangs with me there and if the missus needs me she'll just call me on my cell flip phone.
Yup, a cell flip phone.. :untroubled:
