Vitamins or nutrients you've decided have been beneficial to you?

There are numerous threads in which members have discussed certain vitamins, minerals & such, and certain foods that are said to be beneficial for seniors, or for dealing with specific conditions. The results of scientific research concerning this are interesting, of course, though the results of just one or a couple of research studies may seem promising for a while, but if unsupported further may be kinda meh after a few years.

I know from experience that some supplements have helped me a great deal, which I can explain. But I'm starting this thread in hopes others here have something to share from their own experiences.

Tart Cherry extract prevents frequent gout flair ups for me. I've been on the stuff for 4 or 5 years without one flair up. I've always been skeptical of those officially untested supplements, but when your back is against the wall you get to a point where you will try anything. This worked.

Twostep, since you're getting vitamin-B shots, I assume a health-care pro has been providing those. If you don't mind, were they prescribed for a specific condition?
I do not produce enough and do not absorb pill form. Yes, I am outside every day. It was so bad that shots started out daily and at home. Now monthly. Tired, lack of energy, this that and the other that is tied into B12. The only meds I take is Veozah which finally turned the furnace off.

I've been eating raw, unsalted pumpkin seeds for years, and so far, I haven't had any prostate problems—at least that I know of—and I am eighty-two years old. I should also mention that my father suffered for quite a number of years from an enlarged prostate, getting up four or five times a night to urinate and never getting a good night’s sleep. However, just three days after eating a small handful of pumpkin seeds daily, my father slept through the night without needing to get up to urinate. Also, at his next physical exam, his doctor was quite surprised that my father's prostate was the same size as a young man's. After discovering the benefits of pumpkin seeds my father never had any more problems with his prostate for the rest of his life.

Not giving advice only posting what works for me. Could be I'm just lucky or that Saw Palmetto that I take makes a difference in me getting a good night sleep. I don't want to stop to see which it is :). I take 2 450mg tab daily. normal 7 to 8 hours uninterrupted a night.

Supplements rectified my hemoglobin level that had dropped to less than half of what it should be. That's the most unmistakeable positive effect from supplements in my experience. I was given seven weeks of up-to-date treatment in a clinic for a throat carcinoma, during which I had to spend two overnighters in the hospital next door for blood transfusions. My main oncologist presided over photon-radiation treatment, but a different oncologist suggested three "light" chemical infusions as well.

When my hemoglobin plummeted, I was real weak... and and I could taste the presence of the chemo in my bloodstream. A more-veteran chemo oncologist reckoned that the chemical (along with the cancer) might be bringing my hemoglobin down.

The first chemo oncologist had prescribed ferrous gluconate for increasing red blood cells, but it had hardly any effect. After perusing the internet, I decided to take polysaccharide iron supplements, along with B12 and folic acid. My hemoglobin upswing in my bloodwork delighted my family doctor, as the level returned to the normal range in about six weeks, and has been good thereafter.

I take a multi vitamin pill for women over 50, an iron tablet and a calcium pill. I am a little anemic so take the iron tablet suggested by my doctor. I do not get enough of nutrients from food.
I think you'd probably be better off taking the multivitamin for younger women because it has more iron.

I got some multivitamins when I started having trouble with my blood pressure -- mainly for the potassium. Then I looked at the label and saw that the potassium was only 2% of the MDR -- some sort of law based on how dangerous too much can be. Then I noticed the vitamins were making my acid-reflux worse so I threw them out.

I'm a sucker for those nice, handsome chiropractors on YouTube, so when one of them said beet juice was good for blood pressure, I tried it. The sickening stuff made me taste beet juice all day and even though I drank the whole quart it didn't phase my blood pressure.

If they work that well on the prostate I imagine they must have other benefits. I will google.
