VN vets will remember.

(((IKE)))
Needed a good cry this morning, all pent up and feel ready to burst. Thank you, thank you, for showing this and allowing me to release my tears. Brilliantly made, heart wrenching to see KIA, never forget these young men of my generation whose lives were taken too young.

11 + minutes......wasn't in the 1st Cav but the music and pictures take me back.

I remember many of those areas, 4th Infantry Div, 5/26 Arty Forward Observer. Sadly many of those same places where men had died were fought for over and over. Seemed that the command structure never had the will keep what was paid for with blood. People ask me when I was there, and are stunned when I say last night, this morning, or a few minutes ago.

I find it interesting that certain songs bring a flood of memories back. Credence, Mamas and Papas, Rolling Stones, Johnny Wright, Barry McGuire, The Byrds, Wilson Picket, Spenser Davis Group, Cream, Animals and the list goes on.
Midnight chow, flares all night, ac-47 gunships, The distinctive sound of the two blade Huey.
Seems like yesterday.

We have the luxury of reflection, 58 thousand do not.
