Volcano Erupts on Las Palmas in The Canary Islands

This is really frightening news, if it goes with a big bang, then
part of the Island is expected to slide into the ocean and cause
havoc all around Europe, also North and South American Eastern
Seaboards, I have always dreaded this eruption after reading the
reports of what might happen, I hope that, in this case, the experts
are very wrong.

The eruption was preceded by 1,000 earthquakes.

I hope that you all are safe in America, where I am should also be
safe, but years ago they predicted a gigantic Tsunami that would
affect all.

Hmmm🧐. For some reason I'm not worried (east coast America). Maybe because my property is on high ground.
Though the island is skinny and I may end up, not only oceanfront, but a Castaway on my own little island all to myself.
I learned everything I know of survival skills from Tom Hanks and Wilson though so I'm good.

With all due respect...that video is is a powerful heads up. Thanks Mike.

is the name of the volcano and the possibility of it
creating a gigantic tsunami has been common
knowledge for many years, this fact never slipped
my mind, but it came rushing back when I heard
a bout the eruption.

It was thought, that because the sea bed, which is
deep and doesn't slope up to the island, could be
a factor in a tsunami, this because previous eruptions
cause part of the island to split, but to stay in place,
though any large explosive eruption would blow all
of that part of the island into the sea and it has to be
millions of tons in weight.

Here is a link to the Wikipedia information about the
possibility of the above happening.

Stay Safe all of you.

I would think Morocco and the west coast of Africa would be more affected by this. The Canarys are straight out from Agadir, Morocco.
The worrying bit that might fall off, Lewkat it on the
Atlantic Ocean side, though some of any tsunami, if
it ever happens, will affect all around the ocean.

The way it is erupting at the moments, seems to be
a godsend that is repairing the split, of course this is
just a guess, as nobody has been able to go and see,
but the island hasn't yet parted, so that is good.

Let us pray it does repair itself. I'd hate to see Agadir gone once again. It was practically wiped out in 1960 by a devastating earthquake and has now become a terrific city. Loved visiting there.
