Do you have a morning routine, waking and getting up at the same time every day ?

I don’t have a strict routine but, unless I have an appointment, make a cup of tea as soon as I wake, usually get up around 8am, shower, eat breakfast, tidy up and do any necessary chores, prepare vegetables or salad for my evening meal, that leaves me the rest of the day free to do whatever takes my fancy

How do you start your day ?

Pardon?...say what? :zz:..

It takes me a while to wake up when I get up..:D

I don't have a routine, I don't sleep very well, so I get up when I wake up... unless for an appt..

It takes me up to an hour after I get up to be able to speak to anyone, and I can't eat breakfast when I get up.. so I just have a glass of water, shower, watch the news or come on here and read the papers , then after an hour or 2 I get some breakfast and a cuppa tea, if it's sunny like this morning , I'll always have it in the garden

I don’t sleep a lot. I’m used to my husband getting up at 4:30 a.m. to go to work so I usually wake up before that. My normal routine would be to get up, see what’s going on here and do my yoga, get washed up and take the dogs for their walk and then start my day. My morning herbal tea is in their somewhere in there. My breakfast doesn’t get eaten until later.

I get up when I wake up.

It's best to stay away from me until I've had several cups of coffee and a shower.

I'm usually up and running well before Mrs.L. I get the coffee machine going and read the news, any emails etc..
When the boss surfaces, we have a coffee and usually listen to Radio 4 Extra classic comedy hour.

This morning was different. The Oil delivery man arrived at 7.15 to fill the central heating tank. He starts about 5.30 each day - usually delivering fuel oil to the surrounding farms before the residential properties. Then, being Friday, the 'bin lorry' came round at 7.30 and they don't know the meaning of 'quiet'. Then we had to take Mrs.L's car for its oil change and service before getting back home at our normal getting up time!

We'll put our feet up for a few minutes and then get started to some gardening. We should collect the car again this afternoon. Hopefully tomorrow things will be back to normal.

My routine is about the same daily except when it rains. Awake between 3 and 4 am and make bathroom run. Then use my earbud to listen to my local radio until 6 or 6:30 and get dressed and walk just before sunrise.
Then I spend a few minutes reading bible passages. Coffee and breakfast and meds next. The rest of the day is whatever mama wants to do or we may ride over to the ocean and have coffee.

My daily routine hasn't changed, but lately I've been getting up between 6:30-7am.
The first thing, lie on the floor on my mat,do exercises for my partial right knee which I had surgery in 2004
I take my early am walk before breakfast a couple blocks to buy NYT/USA Today
While I'm eating breakfast,I'm on the computer cking my emails, coming here
3 mornings/wk I'm out the door around 8:30,walking to one of my volunteer places. This morning is one of them Sue

Does anyone miss an alarm?

Y'know, some of us are still working.:gettowork:Some of us would very much LIKE to be ABLE to miss a damn alarm. :boo:

Just giving you a hard time Kesha...:love_heart: Actually I don't use an alarm. My internal clock wakes me between 5.30 and 6.00 no matter what time I got to bed the night before. After I get up and pee, I head downstairs to set the coffee brewing while I empty the dishwasher. Back upstairs, coffee in hand, and I cycle the laundry and then spend an hour or so on the computer reading, writing and sipping. This is my primary computer time of the day.

Shower, get ready for work, back downstairs to grab something for my lunch, a piece of fruit for my breakfast, and I'm out the door.

I usually wake between 7:30 and 9, let the dog out, wash up or shower, make coffee then hit the Internet for news and forum peeps. I have to have at least a slice of toast before meds, but I don't really want anything yet.

I do chores sporadically, go online between them. Sometimes I'll cook and portion off future meals for the freezer.

Up at 5 AM, oatmeal, garlic bread roll, morning news on TV, out the door by 7 AM. When there are no tree jobs, same routine, but then I'm working in the yard or office, until around 3 PM. Late lunch.

Well, since I'm a former farmer, during my high school years, and spent some years in the Navy, I'm basically an "early bird", but not too early. Since my wife still works a full-time job, Mon thru Fri, I motivate her to get up by getting up at 6:45AM. Both of our alarms go off. I take a shower the night before. Since wife takes her lunch to work daily, if she has a tuna salad or egg salad sandwich, I will make the tuna or egg salad. Have a cup of instant Folgers coffee and hit the desktop. Give her a kiss "goodbye" by the vehicle, when the weather is warm enough to go outside and do that. Do it at the door, if not. Watch her as she leaves and wave "goodbye" to her. Get back on the computer and about 9:30AM make my breakfast. Currently, the rest of my day consists of packing things for our move, running an errand and watching Gunsmoke for an hour.

On the weekends, if we don't go out for breakfast, which we generally do on Saturdays, I will be up early, but let her sleep in.

As far as checking local news, I do it each morning, but I really shouldn't. Seems like there is always, almost on a daily basis, a murder or drive-by has happened here the day or night before. Not anywhere close to us, but in other parts of the city. Either that or someone is getting killed in a traffic accident.

I have been retired for 22 years, I get up when I feel like it, unless there is something I have to do that morning.

I get up around 7ish when my dog stands up on my bed and stares at me, he's a quiet type and that's how I know he's ready to go out for his morning peewee. That's when I open the living room drapes so the cat and dog can look out if they want to. As soon as I let him back in, I usually lie down for a little while before I get up.

Then I brush my teeth, freshen up and go outside to get the paper. Usually have a cup or two of coffee while I go on the computer. Usually after that I take the dog out to the park for a long walk. Pretty much the same routine every day, unless something special is going on.
