Walmart no longer keeps beauty products for people of colour under lock & key

This is shocking to me. It’s the year 2020 and find this difficult to understand.

12 stores out of 4700 ?? ... Don't know where those 12 stores are ... and shame on them! ... but it's not a 'national' issue like the article wants to imply. Just name names!

Walmart said the practice was in place in about a dozen of its 4,700 stores across America.

It’s not something I am personally assuming. It was stating by the company itself.
Walmart Inc., will stop keeping personal care products designed for people of colour in locked display cases, the RETAILER SAID after the practice drew flak online with many suggesting customers for these products can’t be trusted.

Walmart CEO Doug McMillon the company along with the Walmart Foundation, will commit $100 million to create a new centre for racial equity.

At least Walmart is wlling to admit their mistake.

Yes Bonnie I DID acknowledge this in THIS post and did not consider it a national issue. It was just a shocking piece of news to me which I thought I’d share. That’s it.

Pretty good bet that the products aren't the only things locked in those stores. I've been to stores close to inner city areas in large cities where there were several locked cases per aisle in health and beauty ...lots of different things locked. Imagine they're locked based on tracking what's shoplifted and would guess it's in high crime areas where people of all colors steal more. Since black hair products are grouped together, it's noticeable that the products are locked.

I've never seen black hair care products locked in Walmarts in the rural or suburban South and with "3b" curls, I use the products from time to time.
