Walmart To Deliver Groceries and Put Them In Your Fridge If You're Gone, Would You Use This Service?

I needed that service when I broke my foot and ankle and if I had heard of it then I'd let them do it. I don't need it now. I do my own grocery shopping but I can see how some would love this service if they were incapacitated as I was.

But being incapacitated means you are home, right? This is a shopping/delivery service that would enter your home when you are not there and put some of your groceries away.

Not on your life would I let someone I did not know enter my home and muck about in my kitchen. Besides, my 80 pound pit bull Bonnie gets a bit testy about strangers in her home and she's got a lot of big scary teeth.

I delivered groceries (and conveniences) when I was a kid. This was in a Los Angeles suburb. We never went inside if no one was home, though; we'd leave the bags in some discreet place if they wanted us to, like behind a fence or something, or we'd leave a note, return to the store with their stuff, and wait for them to call. We were discouraged from entering the home in any case, and that was mainly for our safety.

Currently, they have stores in L.A. called Pink Dot that deliver the goods. (I think they're still there.) You could buy all kinds of stuff from them, alcohol, food, hygiene products, mops, over-the-counter medications...

I don’t think that I would want someone just coming into my house if I were not at home, and if I am gone, I should not be needing groceries delivered. I guess that I can see this as maybe a good thing for someone who works long hours and does not have the time or inclination to go shopping afterwards.
Sam’s club also has the option of ordering online and then drive-through pickup of your groceries. My daughter has done that when she had assignments that kept her working long hours, and no time to go to the store and shop for her own groceries.
One thing that I like about Sam’s Club is that their produce is always good quality, and extra fresh. You would think that the produce at Walmart would be the same since they are part of the same corporation; but Walmart quality is no where near as good.
I enjoy grocery shopping, and as long as I can drive and have a vehicle, I would prefer to go to the store and pick out the items that I want myself.

Now Amazon has the "Amazon Key" available where if you order something from them, they can get into your house to deliver it if you're not home. And of course, once installed in your front door, you can use their Amazon key and code on your own, to let other people into your house. No thanks, not for me!

No, that's a crime waiting to happen. I would have said yes if we were living in the 50's in small-town America maybe...but Walmart didn't open until the 60's anyway. It's interesting to note that the Target corporation started in 1902 and Kmart started in 1899. Well, maybe it's not that interesting
I think it's interesting. The early history is fascinating.
