..apparently supposed potential buyers are attacking sellers more and more... and in several cases killing them...be very very careful if you're slling on FB market place ...
I sell online, I've done so for 25 years.... but only on Ebay.....I don't even try selling anything. I just donate it to the Shelter Shoppe to benefit the local animal shelter. Am I missing out on some money? Yes, but it just isn't worth it to try selling.
FB, Craiglist, etc. etc. etc. They say go to a public place and try avoid selling out of your home. Or a place with cameras. The internet is a tool for predators no matter what the website is.
I used to sell / buy regularly on ebay, but I got robbed one too many times, so I no longer sell.I sell online, I've done so for 25 years.... but only on Ebay.....
OMG...I've never been robbed... in fact the opposite, I've had people pay for things, and not turn up to collect them...I used to sell / buy regularly on ebay, but I got robbed one too many times, so I no longer sell.
Great idea.. I wish we had the same here...,unfortunately we don't have any Police stations left hardly...much less areas where online sales could take place..Just the other night it was on the news where several robberies took place in the parking lot of an apartment that is well known in the local area for being a $hithole & not to go there. They ended up arresting three 16-year-olds who were responsible for all of them & found the stolen shoes with a search warrant.
There are a lot of police & sheriff's offices in my area that have dedicated marked parking spots in their lots for doing sales.
or.. some individuals are simply rotten individuals.. and shouldn't be given excuses..There are so many whom have some sort of mental illness that kill or harm others with simply no regard for the consequences.
the thing is you never want these nut jobs to know where you live.
as to the case of the OP video stabbing someone 70 times and I read he also stabbed family dog between the eyes and killed it as well. this person was insane or more likely on drugs or something. It takes Rage to stab someone that many times and not the ability to feel to have no remorse. a pickup sold on marketplace a normal person would assume there would be some issues.
Sadly, mental health is not something that can be measured like a broken bone x-rays show as it heals.
Mental health treatment is like going to a gym... you have to want improvement, you know it will take time and realize it is personal effort that makes the difference. people are lazy they just want a pill to solve crazy.
...ain't that the truth....or.. some individuals are simply rotten individuals.. and shouldn't be given excuses..
It's much like the craigslist transactions with similar circumstances. Personally those types of postings are one of the reasons I rarely open FB.I mentioned this kind of thing in a thread where people were talking about FB..
around here, and surrounding areas, people are advised to do the transactions in public places, preferably at police stations..
That makes sense. It's much like the craigslist transactions with similar circumstances. Personally those types of postings are one of the reasons I rarely open FB.
@Nathan, I haven't used eBay during the last five or six years. I thought the sales transactions were safe, as individuals generally (or always?) use PayPal now. A little detail... do you mean by "robbed" that you'd paid for items that you never received?I used to sell / buy regularly on ebay, but I got robbed one too many times, so I no longer sell.
The two times that I got robbed was as the seller, in both cases with the sale of a laptop. First time I sold and shipped a Macbook, had tracking and USPS insurance. I saw that it had been delivered, shortly after the buyer files a dispute with ebay/Paypal saying he didn't receive it. The buyer gets refunded, I am out $300 + shipping costs. I researched this buyer, he was himself a seller of used Mabooks and had 3 negative feedbacks on ripoff transactions, and eventually was banned. With the 2nd laptop I sold, the imbecile that bought it didn't read the auction description, but said the laptop wasn't "as described". He got refunded and did return the laptop, but it came back broken...@Nathan, I haven't used eBay during the last five or six years. A big reason I don't sell on eBay. Things get lost or broken in shipping (or the buyer claims that), the hassle of packing and shipping and I don't understand PayPal - I only deal in cash. I like people to see what they are getting in person, that way they can't gripe about it later. The two times that I got robbed was as the seller, in both cases with the sale of a laptop. I feel like buying and selling electronics is where youāre most likely to run into scams, after all, people can find so many ways to take advantage of you.The two times that I got robbed was as the seller, in both cases with the sale of a laptop.
