WARNING USB CHARGER Woman dies

The short answer here is we should never purchase electrical items from market stalls.

Some may be genuine but a high percentage of fake goods are in circulation and some are so well made they look like the real product.

It is the poor quality electrical parts inside which may overheat, injure or even kill you.

Good info Phantom. Reminds me of the warning on Chinese light bulbs that caught fire. Warrigal is correct, we take "current events" too much for granted.

I bought a couple of these light bulbs at our local flea market a while back. Hey, only a buck apiece. How could I go wrong? As we sat watching TV one night I smelled something hot. I found my way to the light fixture and was amazedto see the base of bulb was red hot. I unplugged the appliance and it was quite a while before I could unscrew bulb and dispose of the darn thing right away. Lesson learned.
