Was in the hospital Saturday

It all sounds like a terrible week for you, @Aneeda72
What a difficult ongoing ordeal.

Good to see you at the forum, though.
And I hope you feel better soon, and get to the bottom of whatever else might be needed, to prevent this from recurring more frequently.
I assume they tested for flu, also?

A pacemaker might help you, if that issue is contributing to the problems.

A pacemaker only helps bradycardia. They set mine at 60 beats per minute so when your heart goes lower, it gets “ nudged” and stays no lower that 60. If you have a pacemaker and get a long run of SVT, which is high heartbeats-mine went as high as 215 bpm, the SVT can be treated with medication.

Without a pacemaker if they treated the SVT with medication that lowers the bpm, the heartbeat would go to low and death would occur. The doctors expected my heart beat to fall into the 20’s once the pacemaker was removed, but that has not happened. But I seem to be having a problem with v-tach.

I forgot you already did have one, @Aneeda72
😕
I was mainly just hoping for something that might make your life a little better. and easier.

I have kidney disease and I notice I get more tired than usual when my water intake is low.
Drink more water, it should help with your UTI too.

*disclaimer...I am NOT a doctor, nor do I ever dress up as one for Halloween 👩‍⚕️
I have been drinking so much water. Anyway, saw the PA she said drink more water. 😂😂😂. She also said “it’s your heart” 🙄. She ordered a 48 hour EKG, more blood tests, another urine test for next week, and suggested a group of cardiologist who are in another city in another county.

She also thought I might need a different type of pacemaker-nope. Or maybe I could get one that doesn’t come with a staph infection-now there’s a thought.

Hi Aneeda, are you taking any diuretics that are removing water from your body? If so, you might want to make sure you have enough electrolytes in you. Drink some bone broth, eat a pickle, or put some salt in your water. See if the makes you feel better.
Nope, no diuretics, but I do like pickles 😊

If they told you you need a pacemaker, I would follow up on that. My mom has had a pacemaker for several decades and every 10 years she has to replace it. It has saved her life. Her heart would beat very slow and that can bring on fainting. Have you checked your pulse? How fast is your heart going?
I have bradycardia and SVT so heart ranges, on an EKG, from 36 to 215. I wear a fitbit so I am pretty aware of my heart rate. I do not wish to have another pacemaker. I got/agreed to a pacemaker to improve my quality of life not to live longer.

Instead it’s been a friggin nightmare and dropped my quality of life into the toilet. I do not wish to repeat the experience. I never wanted to live a really long life, I just want to be able to walk longer and more comfortably.

I am, now, forced to endure multiple tests in order to not be “marked” as uncooperative in my medical records. Too bad there is not somewhere where we can mark doctors as idiots.

I first heard about what a UTI can do to an older person several years ago when a friend`s mom went totally "off the wall" and had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital. My friend and her family thought that mom had developed a sudden case of Alzheimer`s,or something similar. She was exhibiting some pretty crazy and bizarre behavior. And yep, turned out to be a UTI. My brother, who passed back in December, had several UTIs during the last several months of his life, and had to be Pepper.hospitalized in the ICU several times for many days and sometimes weeks. They made him that ill. So yes, totally different than the UTIs most of us women have experienced in our younger years.

Hope you`re feeling better soon,Aneeda-and you as well,Pepper.
