Washington DC Cop Arrested For Aiding Terrorist

A Washington DC transit cop was arrested for aiding terrorists/ISIS. After friend arrested in 2010 for same crime aiding terrorist he was put under investigation. Traveled to Libya to be with rebels over throwing Gadaffi in 2011. In 2012 another acquaintance arrested, told remaining group to find undercover informants. Started meeting with informant in 2014, asked how to send/support ISIS. Finally charged with sending 245 dollars in gift card codes(?) to informant. Eventually arrested for trying to aid terrorists.

Something is off here. It took law enforcement 5 years to arrest the guy for 245 dollars in gift card codes?

It took 5 years, many people & resources to get this one person. How many similar plots, plans or "operations" like this are going un-noticed and will make it to their end game.

Something is not being told in this case, 5 years? I suspect they got some intelligence from this guy on other people and plans. Although a serious offense the charges appear weak involving a plot that seem to have a lot of facilitation.
