Be what you is not what you what you ain’t

I recall watching BCTA at a movie theater, at the time I was more aware of the nudity than the message of communication. The movie theme was an invitation for people to speak openly and honestly about their feelings. Robert Culp announces to his wife Natalie Wood, Carol he had sex on a business trip. Trust and sharing honestly is the cure for any wrongdoings.
If you are honest about what you do, does honesty make things right?
Should people today be more in touch with their feelings? Has society regressed to a time unknown to social/psyche experimentation?
