Watching movies you have already seen.

So many times when I am watching a movie, there comes a time in the movie when I say, "I have seen this one already."
Be it scene or a line of dialogue that jogs my memory, I usually say, "What is the use of watching it again if I have already seen it"?

Even though I did not remember watching it previously, most times I turn it off.
Rather strange really. Don't remember but still turn it off.

I get that too. Sometimes it feels like a waste of time since you already know what happens. But if it’s a really good one, I find it comfy to rewatch because I can just relax without focusing too hard. If you’re not feeling it though, definitely better to just find something new!

I watch lots of movies over and over on dvd or television. Better than new ones I don't care about. If you saw a movie a very long ago it is almost like seeing it for the first time. Great actors are worth my time. Cagney is always. And I notice or hear something different in each viewing. The drawback is that the experience is never the same on a small screen. Most of the picture is gone to fit the screen. It makes a major difference with art films, some action movies, and ones like Avatar.
The best movies I enjoy more the second and third time. Classics especially from the Golden era.

That happens to most of us these days, I think. Some movies I really enjoy watching again, others not so much. TV is just entertainment, so if I enjoy it - I don't consider it a waste of time.

Also, hard to find really good new things to watch on tv these days!

A lot of movies are worth watching again -- especially if you've upgraded your TV and entertainment center since seeing them the first time. Also, up until maybe 10 years ago, I wasn't watching with subtitles on, and I didn't understand a lot of the dialogue -- sometimes to the point of not really being able to follow the plot. I always watch with subtitles turned on these days, and I can follow what's going on a lot better. I also suffer from ADHD, and having to read subtitles forces me to concentrate.

There are several films which I never tire of watching, even though I probably already have them myself. Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, anything with Charlton Heston...

That happens to me on rare occasions but I will usually remember seeing a movie during the opening scenes and in many cases I'll do what you do. Sometimes however I want to be reminded more of what the movie was like and I'll watch it for a while or continue watching it until the end.

Like a lot of others I have some movies that I love seeing again and again. There aren't a lot of them but I'd see any of my top 10 movies again most of the time. My favorite one to watch repeatedly is Groundhog Day. I love the whole movie but the ending is so romantic it almost brings me to tears no matter how many times I see it.
