Watching on Netflix: Fisk

Fisk on Netflix
I see that it is a "witty, quirky" comedy, but then realized that it is an Australian language program. I thought this will be interesting, I've never seen a program where the dialogue was spoken with the Aussie accent, except of course- the myriad of household product infomercials where the pitchman is clearly Australian. Of course the question arises: are the household product infomercials in Australia pitched with U.S. or Canadian presenters...?

Back to Fisk, I told myself at the start- this has to make me laugh in the first five minutes or I'll pick some other program to watch. I laughed! So, I'll continue watching all 6 episodes. There is no particular plot that I can detect, but nevertheless, Fisk is entertaining...and interesting, as it provides a glimpse into contemporary culture there in Australia.

May have to take a look. Currently on last season of City Homicide, an Australian police show.

I'll check it out. I like quirky comedy, not the mainstream stuff on network TV. One of my all-time favorites was Kath & Kim, which was bawdy and followed the lives of "middle Americans" in Australia. I think it is available on Netflix.

I’m anxious for the second season of Fisk. This is appeals to my warped sense of humour, as do many other Aussie shows. I always turn on subtitles so I can pick up the unusual phrases.
