Water, what is your source of drinking water?

My filter in my fridge blew so I by passed it and so all I get from it is ice and I bought a PUR filter for my kitchen faucet.

Our water is drinkable out of the tap, at least I think so. I tend to put a little lemon juice in the water, so that improves it. The only problem is that during the summer, it's almost impossible to get cool water out of the tap. The pipes go through the attic and it's almost like having a solar water heater.

Currently my water is city water straight from the tap. Heavy calcium, but tastes fine. I'm used to the chlorine I guess. Some days in the summer it is stronger.

I've lived in two places that had well water and they were both terrible---iron and manganese. You could notice it worst in tea. And in Florida, the well water had a sulfur smell and a salty aftertaste. :p Wish I had city water growing up (for teeth).

Even though my city water has high ratings by the residents, I prefer DeerPark. I buy the 2 gallon jug with tap. I like the flavor and it's truly from a spring and not just filtered so I feel like it's healthier. It's debatable though because the container is plastic which some have an issue with. But the day I saw a little bit of suds coming from my tap water and it smelled of chlorine, I switched to DeerPark.

That hasn't happened again, it's been a decade, but I'm spoiled now with the taste of DeerPark and I can taste minerals or chlorine in the city water.

I drink our city tap water.

It is filtered untreated water from a local lake.

Treatment may be needed at some point in the future because toxic algae blooms have started to form in sections of the lake high above the city intake pipes. It is believed that the algae was introduced into the lake by pleasure boats that are launched by weekend warriors at a public boat launch.

Well water
Static level is 14’
The well is 40’
Constant 38°F year round
Lore has it we’re sitting atop a huge underground lake
Can poke a hole anywhere…get water
Sweetest I ever tasted
Could sell it
Ten miles south is brackish, foul

Go figure

I've been using a PUR filter on my kitchen faucet for years. Use it for drinking water and only filter cold water.

Here is a piece written about PUR filters rated the best:
The included filter is certified to remove 70 different contaminants including 99 percent of the lead, 96 percent of the mercury, and 92 percent of certain pesticides. Meanwhile, the water is filtered over a mineral core that adds a crisp,...MORE clean, refreshing flavor to the filtered water.

We have some of the best water I've ever had...from our well. It is, however, high in minerals, so we have to use a water softener in the house to keep the sink aerators and shower heads clear.

Our water tastes great straight out of the tap. It is very soft and doesn't need any filtering of softeners in the washing machine etc.. Many of the rural properties here have their own wells and their water requires a lot of treatment - primarily because of the high iron content.

At least you don't have to consume the fluoride from waste by products that is added to MANY and MOST of the U.S. city water supplies. THis is toxic stuff..You do get naturally occurring fluoride from the atmosphere.

I don't think artificial fluoride is added to water in Scotland. That is good...our town held out for decades and then in 2008 let the "pushers" fluoridate our city waters. We fought like crazy but our Clean Water group lost the battle...

Tap water, through a particle filter....This was advised by the water dpt, a few years back when they were experiencing a problem a calcium? contaminant . So I just stayed with it. First it was boil, or avoid, then it was filter if affordable , then it was all clear.

I get the bottles delivered for my water cooler. The local water...I don't trust it, long history of problems here, in the country it can't be treated thoroughly like it can in the city.
