It’s my son Corey’s 50th birthday celebration! His wife Mayra is throwing him a Havana Nights party at one of Corey’s restaurants. The dress code is bright and colorful party dresses with fun accessories for the ladies, and guayabera collared shirts for the men.

I have a pretty, colorful sun dress with bold splashy flowers and I’ll pair that with jeweled flamingo earrings and necklace and a colorful anklet with strappy heeled straw mules. Ron’s wearing a black and white guayabera shirt with black pants and his white panama jack hat, and he has some casual canvas shoes in gray.

We’ll stay for 5 days. Corey has that whole time off from the fire station and the oldest granddaughter who’s away at college will fly in for the weekend so we’ll get to see her too!!! It will be a fun week!

If anyone lives around the LOS Angeles/Whittier area, would love to meet up!

First stop before we even made it to the house…In-N-Out! Double Double and Animal style fries baby!!! ❤️🤩🎉

To be clear, we don’t eat fast food and never have burgers…except when we visit family in CA. It’s always our first stop on the way from the airport to the house. We left the house at 6.15 am, had a quick mini breakfast at the airport after we got through security, (yogurt and fruit) and by the time we landed, de-planed, got our bags and got in the road, it was about 7 hours later so we were starving!

We normally don’t eat that heavily, so when the family took us out to dinner we weren’t that hungry, so we each had a side salad and shared a serving of alfredo bow tie pasta and shrimp.

Today I’ll go shopping with my daughter-in-law Mayra because she still hasn’t found what she wants to wear to Corey’s birthday celebration. Ron will stay here to help Corey with a couple of house projects.

The grands have plans for me when they get done with school (teen girls). They want to do my hair and makeup! 😂❤️ The last time I was here I ended up made up like a model with false eyelashes, and a tiara sitting on heavily teased and lacquered hair. It was lots of fun!!
