We all make 'em...mistakes...

What was the best mistake you've ever made?

A mistake that turned out really well? 🤔

Getting married to my first husband who adopted my son who was 9 years old at the time. Because of him adopting him, my son who is disabled (developmentally disabled) was able to get Social Security disability on his father's benefit when his father applied for his own SSD (though he died within months of that). I had to prove that he was born disabled and I easily could do that. So he gets a nice size check (much more than me) now and can live fairly well.

I make mistakes all the time. I have a lot on my mind sometimes and find it hard to focus on what I'm doing. The last mistake I made was at the gasoline pump. I pushed the button and the nozzle kept blinking Diesel. I stood there pushing the button like a dope yelling why are you blinking Diesel at me. A guy getting gas on the other side said to use the other nozzle. Oh duh. He was a nice guy and said it was an honest mistake even though the nozzle was different and blinking Diesel. You don't meet many nice people where I live so it turned out well.

I just made a terrible mistake and I'm barraging myself with hateful criticism! Just came back from CVS & realized I had a coupon I didn't use for $5! I'm so pissed off with myself I want to scream!

However, back to OP. A mistake I made that worked out well was moving with my husband to Wisconsin. We had good jobs there & a baby!

Husband "forced" us to move from our lovely tenement in East Village with a toilet in the hall! Took me & cat away from this lap of luxury to go on an "adventure." He had previously lived there and was really wanting to move back. I thought it a mistake, but we were happy there.

lol...calm my dear pepper.. it's only $5 you can use it next time.. :sneaky:..I loved the tenement I was raised in.. it was a red sandstone building , very spacious top floor, long hallways ..large rooms... big bathroom etc .. today it still stands looking great for it's age , and is very sought after by buyers wishing to rent it out .. with no shortage of takers

When I said our toilet was in the hall--------it was a private, locked toilet in the Public Hallway opposite the stairs.

I'm not sure I can use the coupon again because it wasn't a general coupon but one with an expiration date and only for a product that I purchased without using it, and I won't need it again for a while, and...............................😱 😭

I'm being horrible to myself! I'll settle down eventually. That's what I get for having Depression era parents!

Thank you, @hollydolly

My grandad lived in an old tenement in a rough part of the city.. and in that tenement building, toilets were on the landings for the families to share.. one toilet on each landing, for 3 or four flats.. some of these flats had 10 people in them,......fortunately my grandad lives on the ground floor, and they were the only apartments in the building with indoor toilets.. no bathrooms, they had to go to the public baths to have a soak.. but at least he had an indoor toilet, I don't think my mother who already hated visiting him, would have ever visited at all if he'd have had to share a toilet with the neighbours
