We are getting closer to doomsday

An asteroid the size of a delivery truck will whip past Earth on Friday morning, one of the closest such encounters ever recorded.
The space agency said on Wednesday that the newly discovered asteroid would make its closest approach on Friday at 11:27am AEDT, zooming past about 3,600 kilometres above the southern tip of South America.
That is 10 times closer than the communication satellites circling above the Earth.
This Asteroid was only discovered last Saturday.
What chance would we have if a large Asteroid was discovered next Saturday and it was on a collision course with Earth?

 well, if there's an impact, at least it'll be quick. we'll all succumb to instant vaporization, eh...? extinction is forever!

An interesting question was given to scientists. If we could travel at speed of light, wouldn't that be dangerous as we'd hit a planet?

The answer was "It would be a miracle if we DID hit one" the space between planets, galaxies and the universe, is so great, that it would border on the impossible.

Now, if you're still reading. In 2029 or 2036 the asteroid Apophis will have a 2 4% chance of hitting earth.

However, NASA claims that it's very unlikely to hit, however, "There's a chance"

I feel so warm and fuzzy about people who admitted that the Columbia Spacecraft was doomed, but didn't tell the astronauts as there's only two choices, die in space, slowly, or by fire, fast.

Do you think they'd admit the truth to us then?

When I asked my doctor what my, ahem, back door problem was, he said: "Haemorrhoids." Puzzled I asked why are they are not called Ass-teroids.
"That word was already taken," he said. Asteroids, sounds like alien Haemorrhoids to me.

2029? OK. I'll be ready for the next episode of eternity.

LoL.. I was of course trying to make humor of it all. Besides the astroid we have the Doomsday Glacier and sea level rising, global warming, over population, COVID, Putin, WW3 all looming over us. At 71 not sure I need to stress over anything. I'm keeping it simple I guess. All is well I pray.
It is. All is well.
