Every late December now for the past 5-6 years this one area in the forest we live in produces Oyster mushrooms. There are plenty of spores there and we always leave a bunch there to repopulate. We love them in soups, scrambled eggs, cooked alone in butter, casseroles, etc. They due have an Oyster smell and taste to them. So we will eating plenty of meals with them in the coming days. It looks like they are about $13 a lb now.

I wish I knew how to identify mushrooms. I have always been afraid I would poison myself.

What a great find, I like Oyster Mushrooms.

I'm the same as others , can't identify what's safe when it comes to mushrooms, and even when looking it up, I wouldn't want to take the risk. I even have mushrooms growing in my garden after heavy rain... probably toadstools.. but they're huge
