My sister leases an inexpensive new car every three years because she needs the security of a fixed monthly payment with no surprises when it comes to maintenance or repairs. I think that is true of many people today who don't have the funds on hand or the ability to pay for a large repair bill on credit.

I prefer leasing. I don't mind a monthly payment as long as it's reasonable.
It's rather amusing when people who finance a car, say, "When you lease a car, you don't own it." If you buy a car, you also don't own it until you pay it off.

Not if you pay cash!!
