Weekend plans? What are you planning?

I don’t usually go out on weekends because, you know, retired. But sometimes there’s something I want to attend.

This Sunday there’s a presentation at the George Washington Carver National Park and there are some nice walking trails and I can take my doggies with me so that’s on my calendar.

Next Sunday is the matinee performance at the Joplin Little Theater of The Odd Couple and I have season tickets so I’ll be going out for that too.
You seem to be active with interesting things to see and do lined up. That's a good thing. I have not made plans for this weekend, except maybe catch up on some chores. Too bad I won't be going out to enjoy the 84 degree weather (up from the 50s) because it's going to be very windy.

Nothing for me this weekend, except work around the house & barn.

My taxes were done a month or so ago and I’m still waiting for my return - a return that is half of what the charge was to get them done.

If I’m smart, I’ll get myself to the water box out by the road, to shut the water off so I can fix the leaking bathtub faucet before it becomes a stream. I keep procrastinating because there’s no shutoff valve for the bathtub unless I want to tear the wall apart.

In the meantime, my area has crept into a Level II weather alert on Sunday for severe thunderstorms, possible large hail, possible tornadoes. No point calling the roofers just yet to replace the shingles from the storm two weeks ago. At least I already have stuff in readiness from the last big storm.

My handsome elder horse is shedding his winter hair at Mach 80. I would love to have the energy to give him a good brushing, instead of the “lick and a promise” he’s been getting. At least it’s been windy so a lot blows off him after he rolls. Based on his vet papers that traveled with him, his sweet self is somewhere between 29-31. He was a winning show jumper and came to my farm three years ago for full retirement & as a companion to my last Tennessee Walker whom I lost last December at 30-1/2. When I lose this fella, it will be the end of a 60+ year era. He is 17H and every bit as precious & gentle as he is big.

Today, help DH with his greenhouse setup. A bit of yardwork that needs doin. Checking in with friends who lost their dad a couple of days ago. Give Gretchen a mani-pedi and a bath so she will be ready tomorrow.
Tomorrow, Sunday school class followed by church service. Back home for some lunch and rest. Then back to church at 5pm for choir practice and evening service at 6. Weekends are wonderful! :D

Today I’m going to work in the back deck, get it cleaned off and furniture and plants and such placed, to make it pleasant and comfortable.

Tomorrow the family’s coming over to celebrate Grayson’s birthday, so I’ll be cooking and baking for that.
