I don't know why we are having such a big influx of new members all of a sudden, but a big collective hi and welcome to all of you! It must be our superiorly intelligent posts, good humor and young thinking that drew you all here. :playful:

Seriously, we have a great diverse group here, that I learn something new from all the time. Thanks for joining us and please join in often, and don't forget to post pics.

Our treasured 'home' forum is closing and we're looking for a similar friendly one to carry on with the banter we've come to love.

I love 'diverse', we know how our locals think and live, learning how others do it can be a lot more interesting.
Working on digging out some local pics of where I live. Having 'technical' problems with the old computer but I'll get them out somehow. grrrrrr.
 
I'd like to join Ozarkgal in welcoming all of our newcomers, she's one of our members who makes this forum so special. :love_heart: We already had a wonderful group of folks here, but each and every one of you will make our family here even that much better! So happy you're here, it's great to see the forum growing in such a positive direction! :coolthumb:
 

Thankyou Ozarkgal and SeaBreeze, I had been disullusioned with my regular forum for a few months now, I saw a link to this place and thought I would give it a try and so glad I did, you all seem such friendly people.:D

G'day Ozarkgal..... I thought you all knew that the sudden influx of members was due to our Australian forum, "Seniors Helping Seniors" being scheduled to close down on 1st August 2013.

With nowhere else to go, we have become "boat people" and set sail for your shores. many of our members, including me, have signed up with your friendly forum during the past few days.

Well, that 'splains it...I must have had my head in the sand, because I missed it somewhere along the way. Sorry about your forum, I hope you are able to meet up with some of your forum friend here.
 
Shucks, what a love-in, ( yeah I'm old enough to remember them. ) :glee:

I like your signature Ozarkgal, one of the great lines. My fave is "Nothing I can do about it now", I have Willie singing that in the car with me. Having it played at my funeral and "I'm forgiving everything that forgiveness will allow, and there's nothing I can do about it now" on my plaque or tombstone. Some lyrics just sum it all up perfectly don't they? :)

Sorry about your forum closing up shop, but we're certainly happy you've arrived here~
Just keep in mind this is our summer season so many of us are outdoors more than on the pc for these months..

Elephants are my favourite animal SeaSparkle, for some reason they won't let me have one in the back garden.:lol:

I have got a small collection standing on my window sill and all facing the same way for luck.:D

During my youth, when someone asked what I planned to be when I grew up, my answer always was that I was going to Africa to save the elephants.
Prolly has alot to do with witnessing my mother's infatuation with Johnny Weissmuller & his Tarzan movies. The elephants always helped him..
They're just so magnificient & amazing, truly a gift to our world.
