Teddy Bear Cholla. Also known as Jumping Cholla because it is so easy to get stuck to one you swear you didn't touch it. It's so cuddly looking you want to pet it. But don't. Each needle is incredibly sharp and is covered with microscopic backward facing barbs which makes them really difficult to pull out. I brushed up against a baby one once and the needle when through the leather of my shoe. I needed pliers to pull it out. The guy in the photo is screwed
